How Nigerians are coping with skyrocketing fuel prices and inflation

A CNN report today from Stephani Busari has shown the impact of rising fuel costs on all walks of life in Nigeria.  Many Nigerians have never had it so hard with the increase in the price of petrol affecting the prices of all other goods and services.

Those that are relatively well-off and can manage to navigate the soaring inflation may have a blessing in disguise as avoiding spending a relative fortune on petrol has led to a massive reduction in traffic.

Increased costs have also forced many companies to look again at the Nigerian subculture of demanding staff are “on seat”, regardless of whether much work is done.  Working from home seems to be the way to go as Nigeria joins the rest of the world that has woken to the benefits of home working since the pandemic.
