Nigeria Premier Football League giants Enyimba FC of Aba trained yesterday at the multimillion dollar College of the Immaculate Conception (CIC) Multi Sports Centre, as they prepare for the Coal City Cup 2024, a preseason tournament involving Enugu Rangers, the hosts, Remo Stars, Kano Pillars, Gor Mahia from Kenya, Corinthians from Sao Paolo, Brazil, and others.
Enyimba kick off the tournament today with a southeastern derby against Enugu Rangers.

Enyimba signed with the authorities at CIC for an undisclosed fee to train at their grounds for six days. This partnership is in recognition of the quality of the facility donated to the school by its former students and commissioned a year ago.
College of the Immaculate Conception (CIC) Enugu reshaping the education narrative in Nigeria
Enyimba finished third in the first tier of Nigerian football last season and have won the league title a record nine times, with two CAF Champions League titles in their trophy cabinet.

For a club of such pedigree as Enyimba to hold training sessions at the grounds of a secondary school demonstrates the championship calibre of the old boys association that gifted the facility to the school. The CIC Old Boys Association are the unofficial champions of secondary school alumni associations in Nigeria.
Incidentally, the old boys association’s 18th international convention kicks off today in London, with festivities going on over four days in Britain’s capital city. As the former students celebrate, they will reflect on the significance of this association with Enyimba and will be inspired to strive even more to make a greater mark in Nigeria in the fields of sport and education.
