A Nigerian based in Colombia has revealed that President Bola Tinubu is still running a large scale narcotics operation while ostensibly being in charge of Nigeria.
Tinubu was alleged to have been involved in the drugs trade in Chicago in the 1990s, earning himself the nickname “Bobo Chicago” while having to forfeit nearly half a million dollars to the authorities, that were proceeds from the white heroin trade, according to court documents.
After rehabilitating himself as a politician in Nigeria, first as a senator, then governor of Lagos State and now president, it was widely assumed that the drug trafficking was all in the past. Not so, according to our source in Colombia, who provided a different narrative. He spoke on condition of anonymity and by all indications, he is also involved in drug dealing, having lived in the South American country for close to 30 years.
He said Tinubu owns a multi-hectare farm growing coca in Colombia. According to the BBC, almost two-thirds of the coca crops are found in the provinces of Nariño and Putumayo, which border Ecuador, and in Norte de Santander, on the Venezuelan border. 60% of the world’s coca is grown in Colombia. The source didn’t reveal the exact location of Tinubu’s coca farm, but claimed the president flies in with his private jet, alongside his associates, regularly.

The source claimed that the harvested coca is then shipped to Nigeria where the president’s cartel is run with the help of “two Igbo billionaires”, who are well-known on social media and can be described as “celebrities”. Those shipments are waived through by compliant Customs officials. The coca is then processed into cocaine and in smaller packages for onward distribution to Europe and America by mules.
When our source was asked why Tinubu was still involved in narcotics, considering the riches at his disposal from looting public funds, he replied: “It is difficult to leave this business [drug dealing] and the scale of operation is just too lucrative”.
