The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has continued its war of words against Hope Uzodinma in response to the Imo State governor’s alleged violence against NLC president Joe Ajaero. On Wednesday Ajaero was beaten up allegedly on the orders of Uzodinma.

It appears the bloodlust of the governor was not sated by that violent encounter, as the NLC alleged in a statement this afternoon that Uzodinma upped the ante by attacking Emekuku in Imo State, the hometown of Ajaero yesterday morning.

There wasn’t much in the statement from the NLC in terms of details of “invading and attacking” the Azalla Owalla community in Emekuku. But the union claimed that the thugs that “invaded” did so expecting Ajaero was still there recovering from his wounds from the beating last Wednesday.

The NLC stressed that the governor’s brutality won’t deter them from continuing to fight for the rights of Imo State workers.
