Lere Olayinka, the spin-doctor for Ayo Fayose, the governor of Ekiti State, has suggested that President Muhammadu Buhari is older than his stated age of 74.
Responding to the resignation of Zimbabwe’s 93-year old Robert Mugabe, Olayinka tweeted this morning:
Nija people, Mugabe is gone, let’s leave Zimbabweans to face that while we face our own Nigeria’s Mugabe. At 74 (official age), @MBuhari has no business in govt.

Buhari’s real age has been the subject of speculation among Nigerians, with some rumours claiming he is in his 80s. His suitability for ruling Nigeria in this century was summed up by one commentator who described the president as “an analogue in a digital environment”.
