Members of the separatist Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) yesterday submitted a petition at 10 Downing Street, London, the official residence of British Prime Minister David Cameron.
The petition called for the release of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu, who was arrested by Nigerian security officials in a Lagos hotel on 17 October and has not been charged.
A demonstration by pro-Biafran supporters followed outside Downing Street after the petition was handed over.
A source close to the IPOB leadership informed Naijiant.com that Kanu is “being moved from one location to another” in Nigeria. Last week we published a statement from the IPOB that their leader was being treated well, based on the opinions of supporters who visited him in detention.
